The Subclass 300 Prospective Marriage Visa is for people who want to come to Australia to marry their fiancé. You must be outside Australia to apply and must have met your fiancé in person with evidence of your relationship.

Your fiancé must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or Eligible New Zealand citizen and must have made arrangements for your marriage through a religious institution, celebrant, or registry office. A Notice Of Intention to Marry must be lodged at least one month and one day prior to the ceremony.

The visa is granted for nine months, during which you must marry your fiancé and apply for a Subclass 820 Temporary Partner Visa. Once the Subclass 820 is lodged, you receive a bridging visa, Medicare eligibility, and full work rights while processing continues.
