The visa permits stays of up to two years and requires a comprehensive training plan outlining objectives, assessment criteria and expected learning outcomes.

Three Training Streams

The 407 covers three distinct nomination types: training required for registration, training to enhance existing skills, and capacity-building training (including for overseas qualifications, government-supported or professional development).

Training Plan is Critical

A comprehensive training plan with clear learning outcomes, separating practical work from instruction phases, significantly strengthens both nomination and visa applications.

No Direct PR Pathway

The 407 is a temporary training visa with no direct pathway to permanent residence. Participants may transition to other visa categories (e.g. 482 SID, 186 ENS) after training completion if eligible.
