The Subclass 804 Aged Parent visa is the onshore version of the 103, for aged parents who have reached Australian Age Pension age.

Its main advantage is that you can apply from within Australia and hold a Bridging visa to remain lawfully while the application is processed — no need to depart. It is also non-contributory, so charges are lower, but the queue is just as long — about 29–33 years.

It suits parents already in Australia who are of Age Pension age and want to stay near their children while they wait.
